Osmanthus are evergreen shrubs or small trees which are grown for their flowers and foliage. Flowers are small, white (occasionally yellow or orange) and star-shaped. They are usually fragrant and are often followed by oval, blue-black fruits. The leaves of the Osmanthus sit in opposite pairs and have a lance like shape. Osmanthus require full sun and well drained soil they also prefer to be sheltered as much as possible from cold winds. Osmanthus Burkwoodii are dense, slow-growing, large evergreen shrub of rounded habit, to 3m, with dark green leaves and clusters of small, highly-scented white flowers, occasionally followed by a few black fruits
