Angelica are large perennials which can grow to 2.5 metres in height. They have green palm like leaves and umbels of small white or purple flowers which are followed by ribbed brown fruits. Angelica are very easy to grow as they are well suited to most soil types and can tolerate full sunlight or full shade. They are ideal for planting in a cottage garden in borders or flower beds and should be cut back after flowering to encourage further growth. Angelica sylv Vicars Mead has attractive reddish purple stems and foliage the flowers are the same colour when young, but gradually turn paler purple as they mature. Height can reach 150cm
