Papaver are also known as poppies, they make lovely perennials in the garden, in mixed borders. They have simple divided green leaves and beautiful saucer shaped flowers that sometimes have ruffled petals that make them even more attractive, in late spring, early summer. They are also very attractive to insects. Plant in rich soils in sun or part shade. Once they have finished flowering it is best to cut back as the flowers are gone and the foliage tends to look tatty too. Papaver Forncett Summer This lovely perennial produces large single salmon pink flowers that have frilly petals that overlap, all splashed with black spots. Height upto 100cm
