Anemone, Japanese anemone or windflower. There is no other plant that puts on a late display like Japanese Anemones. Masses of pretty coloured flowers on slender stems cover the top of the foliage and waft in the breeze from late July through to the frosts. They are easy to grow and thrive best as underplanting perennials as in very hot weather they tend to scorch a little. They grow in any soil as long as it is not either end of the moisture spectrum. The foliage is usually bright green and palmate. They are called windflower because the breeze blows open the flowers and then blows the petals away after they are finished. They are hugely popular, one of our best sellers and we always sell out early. Anemone hyb. Honorine Jobert are late flowering perennials which produces cup-shaped single white flowers and golden yellow stamens. Height can reach 80-100cm
