“It has many good features starting with the excellent leather sheath and bit kit. Very robust and nice my made. The tool's pluses are one handed pliers (and strong ones too), a good blade and a useful screwdriver. I think the 'centre drive' concept is a little over blown (I find other multi tools are almost as good and - with the ability to 'pistol grip' the driver in, say, a Leatherman - might in some cases be more useful) but it works well with lots of reach. The file is pretty good, the awl is okay, the pribar will be good for light work (I worry about the nail extraction notch weakening it) but the scissors aren't very good. They are sharp enough but the handles are too short compared to the blade length, they are two uncomfortable to use for anything more substantial than light paper or thread, and the tips cross over the wrong way: in short they are pretty basic. Finally the tool - despite a plethora of holes in the frame to lighten it - is still pretty heavy. Price and weight it's obvious competitor is a Leatherman Surge and (as I own both) it'd be a toss up which one I'd recommend. Until recently I'd have said the surge as the carbide cutters on the centre drive are notorious for shattering under heavy use but now that the cutters on modern leatherman are also sub optimal, I'm no longer sure.”
