“This is a very attractive and entertaining watch. The Tourbillon draws you in and it can mesmerise. Doubling as a gliding seconds counter (one of the trio of cross pieces has a subtle “pointier” tip) it’s quite hypnotic.
Personally I preferred the Gold edition, with the exhibition back popping with contrast what with the silver gears against the gold “frame”. It’s nice to see a mechanism where you can genuinely see the mechanics at work, and hints at the various motions and counters that make this tick.
Also, I prefer the consistency across the hands. The gold and silver has the odd mismatched pair, and while I wouldn’t dismiss it, it seems an odd choice when the effect of having matching hands is right here next to it on the page.
With a watch like this, I also prefer a total finish in one “colour”. The silver and gold of the other piece again seems a little odd. But others beg to differ given the stock levels of each…
The thickness of the case is “yuge” as all the cool kids like to say. Again, for this watch, it works and others have mentioned the space needed for this fascinating movement.
This is not a watch I would ordinary even consider to be honest, but that price and that wonderful mechanism, combined with a great finish that is really only suited to this piece… well it was an opportunity to own a real example of craftsmanship in a very limited run, that will never cease to impress. If you’re on the ledge, do it. You’ll kick yourself when they’re gone. As usual, it comes beautifully presented in a Geckota genuine leather two watch case. Top marks!”
