“First of all about delivery. From ordering to arriving in Australia it took all of 4 days. Courier even made delivery whilst I was at home on a public holiday. Whereas this is no reflection of Geckota as a watch production company but it does indicate they took care to select the right courier and the courier's service adds to the overall very pleasant purchasing experience.
Now to the watch, I am a huge fan of the Panerai shape but I will probably never own a Panerai for the reason that I cannot bring myself agree to wearing a watch of the price of a small car on my wrist. Bought the Geckota G01, whereas it is not a copy of the Panerai's but quality has far exceeded my expectation and my yearning for a Panerai has completely subsided (and yes I have held and worn real Panerai's).
Movement wise I was not over the moon with the choice of NH35 initially but I figured it is just in my head, for as long as a movement is reliable and keeps time well then it is a good movement, whether it is mid range, high end, Japanese made or otherwise. I have timed my copy of the G01 over 24 hours and it has not gained or lost noticeable time (obviously if I measured it using instrument then I may get a different and more accurate finding).
It is a watch I am truly satisfied with, even down to the material of the stock strap (I will still change strap though as I would like a bit more of a vibrant colour strap).”
“I have wanted his watch for two years approx. was very worried it may sell out!! as many Geckota models are limited production; so when it turned out to be 20% discount I paid the price!!(normally the average discount I find, and I am usually prepared to wait is 68% off!!)
And it was worth it; probably the best/most attractive red dial watch available at the current time under $3000 usd. Obviously this watch was seriously less in cost but what a beautiful thing. All of the colours are great.
Undertones of the Panerai cushion shape case with a totally unique dial ,but again not totally alien dial design to Panerai: in fact,"IMO" more attractive. This watch works with many different colours and styles/techtures of leather strap; but I attached it to a Geckota beads of rice bracelet, that I had on a previous chrono racing watch ,and what a looker it is. Great spec .and budget price with high end quality of finish!!!!”
