Suitable for all wood types with good adhesion and resistance, it has a quick drying formula that means your surface is touch dry within 90 minutes. What is Protek Royal Exterior Finish? A high grade water-repelling timber treatment, Protek Royal Exterior is a preferred choice for customers across the country. With a choice of 56 colours, the hard-wearing mix contains a mould inhibitor to protect the coating, and is low in odour and low VOCs. It is perfect for both softwood and hardwood products, on both horizontal and vertical surfaces. Protek Royal Exterior complies to EN71 parts 2 and 3, which relates to safety assurances over children and flammability. This unique formulation is water-based acrylic and alkyd hybrid that incorporates a polyuerethane dispersion based on linseed oil - a renewable resource. “Spreads very easily, the quality is obvious. Its far better than the stuff you get at B&Q. Dries quickly, you can feel the waterproof once its dried as well. Worth the expense.”

“Never used something like this before. Very high tech. Dries quickly, goes far and seems to give real protection from sun, rain and wind. Wish it was £20 a can but in the real world you get what you pay for”

“Went on easily - we used a brush and roller. The finish showed no brushmarks and looks good. It's a bit of a surprise when opening the tin - the product is milky in colour. You need to plan ahead with this as the instructions indicate the if you leave it too long (e.g. next day) to apply a second coat, then you need to rub down before doing so. We didn't like the idea of rubbing down a whole shed, so started early in the day and were able to go over again later in the day. I cannot speak for the durability of the treatment as it's only been on the shed a couple of weeks. It was however recommended by the makers of the shed and the finish on their show buildings looked good.”
