Vine weevil nematodes will stop vine weevil from destroying the roots of your plants. These microscopic transparent worms (Heterorhabditis megidis) feed and multiply inside the larva. The nematodes seek out and kill vine weevil larvae.
Apply when the larvae are active in late Spring and early Autumn. High infestations may need two applications.
Apply to pots and open ground March to May and August to October. This is when the vine weevil larvae are present. If applying under cover the pests life cycle is broken and Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer can be applied at any time, as long as the soil is above 5ºC (40ºF). Apply directly to the soil around the roots which is where the larvae will be feeding.
Autumn use is the most effective as the larvae are younger and have not caused significant damage to plants at that time. Banding pots with Insect Barrier Glue will stop the adults from climbing into the pots.
The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF).
Delivery is completely free when just ordering nematodes. Should you purchase any other items then our standard delivery charge will apply.
Please note Nematodes are live material and cannot be returned. They will usually have an expiry date of around 2 weeks. The effectiveness can sometimes vary due to external factors.

Have had a terrible infestation in my front garden for a few years, with the use of these nematodes they are now on the run. I think they must like dry weather as they got really bad in the drought. I have found that the best method of delivery is to knock a hole with a metal bar right into the center of the root,( on my hedge that is nearly a foot in, )make sure the soil is wet, and pour the nematodes into the hole. This seems to be more effective than pouring it on the soil.

Easy to use and I've found them to be effective in my pot plants where I do get vine weevils; they're in my garden sadly. I usually only do them once a year in early Autumn but the recommendation is for two applications.
