About Nemaslug Nematodes
Nemaslug slug nematodes is a natural organic pest control which is environmentally friendly. Slug nematodes are microscopic, transparent worms, which feed and multiply inside the slug. Easy to apply and completely safe to use around children, pets and wildlife, making it the perfect solution for organic gardening. The less common name is Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita.
How do Slug Nematodes Work?
Once the nematodes are applied the slugs stop feeding after a few days and die within a week. For total control apply every 6 weeks. Slug nematodes are found naturally in the soil, by applying these you are just topping up.
The nematodes enter the slug and secrete bacteria which kills the slug.
Start your slug control early and apply at least a week before planting to ensure your garden is safe from slugs.
Are Slug Nematodes Easy to Apply
The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.
How Long do Nematodes Last in the Packet?
Please note these are a live product and should be refrigerated if not being used straight away, each pack has an expiry date usually about 2 weeks - this product is non-returnable. Use the whole pack before the expiry date. Best applied: Feb/March - October.
One packet treats 40sq.m.
Please note Nematodes are live material and cannot be returned. They will usually have an expiry date of around 2 weeks. The effectiveness can sometimes vary due to external factors.
Now in smaller packaging due to higher concentrate.
Delivery is completely free when just ordering nematodes. Should you purchase any other items then our standard delivery charge will apply.

Probably the most effective way to hold off slugs and snails, and without harming anything else. And GN offers different dispatch dates, which is extremely helpful when several doses are needed.

We were very disappointed with the overall effect of Nemaslug on the hostas in pots and the border. Basically the product seemed not to make any difference at all. We cannot you understand it.

Hi, Sorry to hear you haven’t had the results you expected from the product. Nematodes are a biological control, however this means their effectiveness can be limited by several factors: Nematodes require specific environmental conditions to thrive and be effective. They need adequate moisture over the first couple of weeks, moderate temperatures (applying when UV exposure is low) avoiding big drops in temperature overnight below the threshold, and having suitable soil pH levels. Extremes in temperature, dryness, or unfavorable pH can reduce their viability and effectiveness. When applying nematodes you need to use plenty of water ensuring they are spread evenly and fully absorbed ensuring they reach lower depths to reach the pests effectively. Pests can develop a resistance to nematode infection and the overall effectiveness of the control, however, if this is the case we recommend applying another dose to increase the volume of nematodes to overcome the resistance. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Kind regards Gardening Naturally

We are plagued with slugs and snails (the local cats and foxes kill any frogs, toads, slow worms, newts, hedgehogs, birds etc they find in the garden) so we thought we'd give these a go. I applied them a week ago and seem to be finding fewer small slugs on the treated area during the nightly slug & snail hunt. (From what I've been reading, larger slugs like Arion spp. are supposed to be just discouraged from treated areas and snails are supposed to be discouraged rather than killed by the nematodes but this hasn't been my experience as I'm still finding them on both the treated and untreated areas). Would I use nematodes again? Probably yes, they're not cheap but do appear to be affecting small slug numbers.

When I moved to the new house I was plagued with slugs. Not wanting to use pellets because of wildlife I gave the neatodes a try. They have reduced my slug problem significantly and I have slug free crops. When using nematodes be sure to follow the instructions carefully. A great product imo.
