About Nemaslug Nematodes
Nemaslug slug nematodes is a natural organic pest control which is environmentally friendly. Slug nematodes are microscopic, transparent worms, which feed and multiply inside the slug. Easy to apply and completely safe to use around children, pets and wildlife, making it the perfect solution for organic gardening. The less common name is Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita.
How do Slug Nematodes Work?
Once the nematodes are applied the slugs stop feeding after a few days and die within a week. For total control apply every 6 weeks. Slug nematodes are found naturally in the soil, by applying these you are just topping up.
The nematodes enter the slug and secrete bacteria which kills the slug.
Start your slug control early and apply at least a week before planting to ensure your garden is safe from slugs.
Are Slug Nematodes Easy to Apply
The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.
How Long do Nematodes Last in the Packet?
Please note these are a live product and should be refrigerated if not being used straight away, each pack has an expiry date usually about 2 weeks - this product is non-returnable. Use the whole pack before the expiry date. Best applied: Feb/March - October.
One packet treats 40sq.m.
Please note Nematodes are live material and cannot be returned. They will usually have an expiry date of around 2 weeks. The effectiveness can sometimes vary due to external factors.
Now in smaller packaging due to higher concentrate.
Delivery is completely free when just ordering nematodes. Should you purchase any other items then our standard delivery charge will apply.

We don't use chemicals or slugbait because of care for wildlife, but last year at this time I was picking up between 50 and 100 slugs a day in our little garden, and many plants were being damaged. This year I got the timing of the Nematodes just right and have seen almost no slugs. The alstromeria are actually going to get the chance to grow leaves and to flower, and the sweet peas are growing well. Such a relief!

Well, since I used the first lot of Nematodes I haven't seen or seen any evidence of slugs on the flower bed where they were used. I have high hopes that this second dose will keep the little devils away.

Arrived on schedule with a generous use-by date. I couldn’t find my coarse rose, so cheated by using a watering can without a rose, but just trickling it around. Fingers crossed it works (the weather’s good for it - mild and damp).

I have used this for several years now to protect my Hostas from snail damage and my strawberries from slugs. It's not 100% effective but applied regularly throughout the season does a very good job and avoids the toxicity of slug pellets to other creatures.

Brilliant, was a bit sceptical about the product to begin with however the proof is in my hostas looking amazing , unlike last year using slug pellets and traps which still resulted in chewed hostas...infact any new green shoots. Highly recommended.
