About Nemaslug Nematodes
Nemaslug slug nematodes is a natural organic pest control which is environmentally friendly. Slug nematodes are microscopic, transparent worms, which feed and multiply inside the slug. Easy to apply and completely safe to use around children, pets and wildlife, making it the perfect solution for organic gardening. The less common name is Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita.
How do Slug Nematodes Work?
Once the nematodes are applied the slugs stop feeding after a few days and die within a week. For total control apply every 6 weeks. Slug nematodes are found naturally in the soil, by applying these you are just topping up.
The nematodes enter the slug and secrete bacteria which kills the slug.
Start your slug control early and apply at least a week before planting to ensure your garden is safe from slugs.
Are Slug Nematodes Easy to Apply
The nematodes come complete with instructions and can be applied using a watering can or nematode applicator. You just apply to moist soil when the soil temperature is above 5ºC (41ºF) and ensure the soil does not dry out for at least two weeks after applying nematodes. Nematodes are capable of surviving the odd frost; so don't worry if the temperature falls after you have applied the nematodes.
How Long do Nematodes Last in the Packet?
Please note these are a live product and should be refrigerated if not being used straight away, each pack has an expiry date usually about 2 weeks - this product is non-returnable. Use the whole pack before the expiry date. Best applied: Feb/March - October.
One packet treats 40sq.m.
Please note Nematodes are live material and cannot be returned. They will usually have an expiry date of around 2 weeks. The effectiveness can sometimes vary due to external factors.
Now in smaller packaging due to higher concentrate.
Delivery is completely free when just ordering nematodes. Should you purchase any other items then our standard delivery charge will apply.

With a garden that seems to be the epicentre of slug production, anything that can help reduce their attacks on my veg patch has to be a good thing. Nematodes should sort the problem, and I await evidence.

Ordered from Gardening naturally last year, delivery was as stated and like the option of pre ordering for nemaslug. Just turns up when the garden needs another dose. Instructions are good and my delphiniums flowered twice last year, they usually get eaten! Must admit still had a small problem with snails on my hostas but greatly improved.

I use this regularly and notice a huge improvement in damage reduction to my plants - they are no longer munched, especially my hosta which is my pride and joy. The product is intended for slugs and not as effective on snails but it halves the work only having to pick the snails off my hosta at twilight! Also excellent for my veg crops - lettuce, cabbages, sprouts and the like.

We use nematodes once or twice a year, hoping they will help control the slugs, though nothing really seems to stop them. Applying nematodes every six weeks might give better results, but it's a lot of work and a lot of money. We might try using fresh bread dough as slug bait, as recommended in New Scientist magazine. Meanwhile here is a tip: put your concentrated mix straight into one-litre bottles. Shake, pour half a bottle into a watering can, top up, and apply. Repeat until finished. It's quicker and less messy than stirring and measuring each time you refill the watering can.

As I have a massive slug snail problem this product definitely helps, I would recommend this friendly environmental way to combat slugs.
