Wool Pellets for the Garden Slug Gone Safe and Natural Reviews

4.7 Rating 19 Reviews
Read Gardening Naturally Reviews

The methaldehyde-free formulation is gentle to bees, hedgehogs, pets and the environment. The active ingredient, ferric phosphate, is an iron compound which naturally occurs in nature.
Vitax Slug Gone wool slug pellets are composed of 100% natural materials including phosphorous, nitrogen and potassium. As soon as water is added the fibres swell to form a barrier or insulation blanket. When slugs climb onto the fibres it irritates the foot and causes it to seek easier feeding elsewhere.
Slug Gone wool slug pellets are ideal for organic gardening and can be used in pots, flower beds, borders, allotments, herb gardens, nurseries, garden centres, greenhouses and vegetable plots.
Please Note: Slug Gone Pure Wool Slug Pellets contain no harmful chemicals and are suitable for those with children, pets or for those conscious about protecting wildlife
3.5 Litre protects 16 x 6" Diameter pots or 6 x 10" Diameter pots.
5 litre protects 9 x 10" Diameter pots approx.

This is the product that has kept the slugs and snails off my pea and bean plants for the last few years - no dead slugs, just slugs discouraged from crossing the barrier. It works, its easy to apply and it digs in to the soil at the end of the year. If you think it looks expensive, try replacing your slug eaten pea plants two or three times... Slug Gone is worth the money.

Wow! this product really works. Wish I had known about it last spring as I lost 50% of my young perennials to moluscs while creating a new garden. Don't be put off by the pungent pong when you remove the lid as the smell is not noticeable once the pellets are applied around the plants.

This is the 2nd year of using these. Found to be very effective. Need to use as directed so a large tub recommended.

My friend said they don't work. I bought them hoping for the best as didn't want to kill baby frogs in the polytunnel but the plants were suffering. In between had to use blue pellets ....
