Square Aluminium Hoops For Garden Netting Tunnels Reviews

5 Rating 38 Reviews
Read Gardening Naturally Reviews

Our square garden hoops give a little extra growing space in raised beds or open soil. Made from aluminium, the hoops are a great way to create tunnels, cloches and polytunnels that will last for many seasons.
They can provide year-round protection in the vegetable plot. Cover the hoops with fleece for protection against the cold in winter then cover with netting to protect against birds or insects.
All this protection means a longer cropping season with undamaged fruit or vegetables.
Size: These hoops stand at an erected height of 80cm (2 ft 7 in) and are 1.15 m (3 ft 9 in) in width. The actual size of these hoops are 92cm high x 115cm wide and need to be pushed into the soil roughly 12-15cm's.
Netting size needed: A minimum of 2.8m width netting or fleece is required. As a guide space the hoops at 1 m intervals. Add 2m in length to your netting or fleece to ensure you have enough to cover both ends.
You can purchase netting here and fleece covers here.
Each hoop comes with 6 clips.
Please note, that these are only the aluminium hoops, netting and covers are sold separately.

Really strong construction but you need either the anchor posts or the cross bars (or both) to produce a sturdy cage especially of you're using heavier grade coverings.

Almost perfect for my needs. I have decided to hammer the ends to a point so they're easier to drive into the soil. I would appreciate the choice to have plastic shaped ends to insert, if possible.

I like these square hoops I can get two rows of brassicas under them and the straight nature of the sides means the the plants can grow up straight too. I use them on my allotment and the only thing that has gone wrong are the clips; although they are stiff to put on even so stronger winds can pull them off. However with the mesh fleece held down well on the sides no real harm was done.

Having used plastic hoops in the past we wanted something more substantial and long lasting for our new veg beds. Thought these square ones would be good for growing carrots under fleece. They should last years. The one thing we should have done is order the pegs to secure the netting/fleece at the same time , we definitely need these to secure netting and get easy access to bed.
