“Well organized, wonderful guides (driver and local guide), and scenery at Kawah Ijen is amazing, blue fire is unique and worth seeing. I would just suggest perhaps bring goggles since the smoke stings, only gas masks are provided. Masks are only needed right next to the blue fire, the rest of the time you barely smell any sulfur-containing gases.”
“A long drive to a great hotel at the base of the mountain. Make sure you have a face mask a bit dusty going up. But fun experience with amazing blue flames & sun rise over a crystal blue lake ( swimming optional since very acidic from volcano flumes) once in lifetime experience”
