Made with sourdough and freshly milled whole rye, our Biona Amaranth & Quinoa Rye bread is wheat free, high in fibre and contains no added yeast; the perfect alternative to traditional wheat bread. Both amaranth and quinoa are native to South America and are naturally high in protein, making our rye bread a nutritious and tasty choice.

Light and soft in texture, it is ideal served with a variety of sweet and savoury toppings. Why not try topping with creamy peanut butter and banana or smashed avocado, lime and tomato?

I made the transition from Wholemeal bread to rye in 2024, because I wanted to cut back on Ultra-Processed Foods (UPFs). Sadly, even wholemeal and granery breads are considered UPF, because they contain multiple ingredients, which most of us struggle to even pronounce, let alone know what it actually is. Rye bread is an aquired taste and I would struggle to enjoy a traditional sandwich, with two slices put together etc. However, I really enjoy this bread toasted, along with a whole range of different foods such as Guacamole and Cottage Cheese. I find that the Rye toast really tasty and it is far healthier than most other breads, especially with the added grains.
