Organic Pinhead Oatmeal Coarse is an oat groat cut into 3
Organic pinhead oatmeal is course oatmeal produced by cutting oat groats into three. They are so versatile - a true cupboard staple. Keeping less than 5kg in stock doesn't make sense when you are a porridge fanatic.
You may already know that porridge oats are a source of beta-glucans, but do you know what they do? Consumption of beta-glucans from oats as part of a meal contributes to the reduction of the blood glucose rise after that meal (this explains why porridge keeps you going).

Pinhead is really good for enhancing the texture and nutritional value of soups, stews, haggis, black puddings and more. It can also be used to top pies, puddings, and crumbles.
You can use pinhead oatmeal to make a substantial porridge. You don't need to soak the oatmeal overnight. It is best to cook in a saucepan and it does take longer than oat flakes.
