“Being of a certain size, I always struggle to get everyday commuting shorts that either aren’t to baggy, short or long. Have to say the cut and style of the shorts is absolutely spot on, paired with the undies, they would make a great pair of everyday commuting shorts but for a couple of annoying features that unfortunately won’t have me buying another pair.
First up and nothing to do with the shorts but a price of £140 for a pair of padded shorts is just too expensive for me to buy more than one pair of them. Secondly, don’t try putting keys in the pocket, the wee net bit held on to my keys but unfortunately didn’t fare to well when I then pulled them out the pocket!, last but not least is the stretchy waist band, it just kept folding back over. Now this may have been as I was riding a bike with drop bars and more bent over than I would be on a mtb but I found I had to pull the band waaay up over my belly button to get it to stay up which brought the shorts to mid thigh and rather tightly to other places. So for those with a tyre or too to spare, you might be better sticking to bibs. Unfortunately they just aren’t for me.”

Thanks for the review and sorry that the shorts haven’t worked well for you.
They are a marmite item for sure which is one of the reasons we tell customers to wriggle around a lot when trying them on. They are supposed to be worn in the style of Simon Cowell but the waist band does seem to flip on some people and despite our considerable efforts we can’t get to the bottom why. (No pun intended).
The Cracking shorts are made in the UK hence the price tag. We are looking at ways to make these more accessible but that’s somewhat of a challenge particularly at the moment post Brexit and with component costs increases.
