Beautifully crafted, nice weight and a far better quality than the price suggests. A quick sharpen and oil rubbed into the handle and it is the business. Very pleased.

I love this knife, handmade, well built, solid opening and closing with a 90° stop. Great price and service from Farrar and Tanner. Need a great knife at a great price? Buy one of these from this company.

At first I was a bit hessitant to order this knife at £30, this was due to me seeing this knife with a more refined finish and better materials for around £150. However, this knife is made to the same standards - robust and what you would know as a 'solid sheffield made work knife'. It is certainly not using the same refined materials as the £150 version found on other websites, due to this model lacking horn handles and filework on the back spring - but for £30 the hardwood handles and the satin-type finish on the bolsters and blade gives it a handsome look - especially for the price. when I received the knife there was no blade play in any direction and the blade only needed a light run over a fine sharpening stone to get a ramarkably sharp edge. I also put a bit of linseed oil on the wood handles to protect the surface from prolonged use in the outdoors. All in all, with just about ten to twenty mins of work on a sharpening stone and oiling the wood, the knife instantly felt like it was worth twice the price. I am sure it will make a great knife for camping and outdoor work where a more expensive knife may get damaged. Love the quality of this product and a great delivery service from F&T.co.uk!
