“Attended the Apprentice workshop but was a bit disappointed. I was expecting to go through the whole process of perfume making using a carrier or base oil and discussion on ethanol. The take home end product was just a mixture of essential oils. Isn't a carrier oil or ethanol used in perfume making?”

Hi there, Thank you for your review. We are not able to match your name with one of our workshop attendees, so we are not able to check if this review is genuine. If it is however, we are sorry to hear you were disappointed with the workshop. The whole focus of the workshop, as detailed in the description, is to learn the creative part on how to create a fragrance. How ingredients work individually and together in a formula to create your own blend. The more "technical" part of how fragrances are made (such as which carrier are used), not only is too complicated for a beginner's workshop but it is also not interesting to the people who attend our workshops. We explain at the start that the fragrances we make are in alcohol, because we create perfumes. Apart from this, there is not much to learn about "ethanol" itself. We recommend our online courses for those who are interested in learning perfumery more in-depth such as learning about different carriers, dilutions and many other more technical considerations. It is a much longer training to half a day and requires a few months to study. Many thanks :)

“OK... wow! This was such a wonderful experience! Em was knowledgeable and welcoming. She made the workshop so much fun. She was inclusive and engaging. I was able to relax and create my own story which she helped me make into my signature scent. I love that I no longer have to settle for a company's version of what I want to smell like. The scents I have been wearing were nice, but never quite right. I can honestly say without drama that the workshop was life-changing in such a good way! I feel so confident in my signature scent and get compliments on it almost daily. If you have the opportunity to work with Em, DO IT! You won't regret it.”

“We booked the apprentice workshop for our Christmas work outing and it was fabulous. The workshop was insightful, hands-on and most importantly fun! Em was an excellent teacher with an incredible amount of knowledge and made time for all of us individually. This was an excellent way to start off the festive period and we all loved the perfume we personally made.”
