I had considered a chop saw for a fairly long time being a DIYer rather than a professional when this came on offer at the right money for my first chop saw. The product is well made and has been put to use rather a lot. It has, as promised by the manufacturer, cut a variety of materials and with perfect angular cuts which was important as my manual angular cutting was suspect to say the least. I have difficulty in justifying a further purchase but with the benefit of hindsight and the quality of the saw as purchased I rather wish I had gone for the sliding chop saw. I can only compliment the function and quality of the Evolution saw as purchased.

Hello I purchased my circular to do wood sculpting preparing birch branches into candle holders and drift wood into furniture pieces. I have been a little frustrated at not being able to get slightly wider sizes of Branch to fit because of the safety guard, which I appreciate is totally important and this explains its limit; The other major Problem I discovered was the design for thumb release to manouvere the handle down and pressing the power button this has been somewhat Impossible. The ergonomics were obviously designed with a mans hands span. Yes I'm female but use my saw as part of My Art equipment. This has been my only disappointment if I have to mention one. I do love this saw but feel frustrated that this mechanism is going cause me a few challenges.

I bought this as I needed a cheap light weight saw that's easy to carry. I've mounted it on a piece of MDF that aids stablility and gives some protection from knocks. My only real gripe is the sliding rear guard on the left hand side. It's far too sloppy in its mounting and therefore no good if you want precision. I've packed it out with a slip of paper to take up the slack and pull the front edge flush with the fixed lower part. The casting for hold down clamp does not very strong. I don't use it but I think it would soon break. The turntable clamp is a plastic affair which is fine at the moment but it doesn't look very strong. Time will tell. At the moment I'm very happy with this saw table.
