Performs well, but does require some attention. The laser is not perfectly aligned and aligning it is a bit fiddly, however it must be done. The sliding is smooth and light, but if you apply a bit of vertical pressure and have set the depth stop to do a rebate for example, the applied pressure has direct influence as there is a bit too much flex in what should be a 100% solid assembly. Still, not a deal breaker. The motor seems strong but it does transmit some vibration and noise that can be disconcerting at the first couple of cuts. The mitre angles are almost there, it will depend on what the job at hand is, for furniture it might require some rework, but not a huge amount of deviation. Depends on your work and the required level of accuracy. The tilt of the cutting head is released/clamped by a screw/handle on the back. While the principle is absolutely fine and it works, the fact that the handle is plastic does not inspire a lot of confidence while tightening as you are afraid it might crack and leave you needing to have greater access to the back to use a screwdriver. The part clamping assembly works fine for small pieces and as long as you use it on the left hand side only. Because the motor protrudes on the right, it hits the assembly if you use it on the right hand side and does not allow the slide to go all the way back leaving you with a half cut piece. The dust collection bag is a nice gesture, but does not work. You end up with very little in the bag, and a lot on the back of the machine. With suction it can only work better, but have not tried it yet. I would still recommend it, but with reservations depending on the type and amount of work to be done. And keep a broom close at hand. As this is not the latest model, these issues might have already been solved. Would live to try it out just to be able to compare them.
