“Unable to do a full review yet as only had it just over a week and had to return it to sort out a minor issue. First impressions are good and I'm hopeful give all the rave reviews on Youtube. Customer service have been good and it's very unusual to get through to a human straight away these days so full marks there.”

“What a beautiful piece of machinery once I had got to grips what all of the different handles and knobs actually did. Once the table saw had been set up the lengths of wood were cutwithease and the accuracy of the cut was exactly what was required. My old table saw was very basic but had become past it's sell by date. The R255TBL exceeded all of my expectations and was a joy to use! Excellent value for the price.”

“5 stars for the table saw - it was an upgrade from a budget TS and has the feel of something that should be 50% more expensive than it is. Out of the box and everything worked and the first cut was accurate and square - and cuts have been consistently accurate since. Very little was needed by way of fine tuning - all that needed tweaking was the riving knife which was not quite in line with the cutting blade. My only critiscm of the package is the sliding mitre guage - the concept is brilliant and works well but the plastic fence on the mitre guage lets the whole thing down a bit. If reviewing this separately I would probably give it 2 stars. But don't let this distract from the table itself which is a fine tool and worth every penny. If I had been able to try before buying I would be buying it without hesitation. The multi product blade is excellent (with minimum tear out), the TS arrives pretty much ready to put straight into action, the dust extraction system is excellent (when paired with a good shop vac). One very happy hobby-woodworker here.”

“Owing to the weight of the saw package it slipped through his hands onto the floor. On unpacking and assembling the saw one of the table extension locking screw mounts was broken, I contacted evolution via their web site and the replacement part was delivered the next day, superb after sales support. After assembling all the final peices that I presume are left off to prevent transit breaksges the only adjustment I had to make was to the fence measurement pointer. I did a tes 45degree mitre on some 75mm wide architrave and when I joined them together on a flat surface the join was a perfect 45 degree and pefectly plumb on the joint face, that was straight out of the box with no adjustment other that the fence pointer. I also ran a 600mm length of joist through with the grain and it ran true and smooth. I have not used the saw for any projects yet but the quality off the saw and after service gives me confidence that it will be OK.”

“Functions as you would expect. Minimal set up time. It's a portable saw, it does that function well. It is not a big saw so don't expect to cut deeper than 95mm. There is no power feed nor finger guides. The fence is good though the T slots are 10mm wide.”

“First saw arrived promptly after ordering and was found to have been damaged - the fence was crushed in the box. I was informed no spare fences were available, so was given the option to return the saw (which I took). A week or so later, another saw is delivered - only to be the same saw I returned but with a new fence placed in the box. I thought ok, I'll set it up. Got half way through to find the rack and pinion fence extenders would not move. A quick call to Evolutions's technical team identified that they'd been damaged. So, another return was arranged and I requested a new saw be delivered. Was then given a tracking number, which showed the saw had been collected but days later there was no sign of it. Another call to Evolution revealed it was on a different tracking number and that it was due imminently. A new saw arrived that day, and I unpacked it only to find another damaged fence inside. A further call to Evolution identified that a replacement fence isn't available until the new year. The fence is serviceable but dented, so I agreed to wait for a replacement to be posted. Upon setting up the saw, I struggled to get the tilt to reach 45 degrees. I used a digital Angle reader and this confirmed it was only reaching 44 degrees on full tilt, despite rotating the positive stop adjustment to it's very minimum position and checking the stop on 0 degrees was positioned correctly. Rather that rig Evolution again and have to send the saw back again, I unscrewed the stop and filed it down until it permitted the full 45 degrees tilt to be achieved. Far from ideal on a brand new saw, but given that I'd already waited nearly a month to get a working saw since placing my order, I wasn't prepared to go through the motions of pickup and replace a fourth time (the courier is on first name terms with me he's visited that many times). Not the greatest experience, but the saw is nice... just took a long time to get it. Somewhat disappointing that I needed to fashion a fix to work around the tilt problem, but then again I'm unlikely to really need to use that particular feature of the saw. It wouldn't put me off Evolution as they have been proactive at trying to resolve problems that mostly stem from delivery, but it could have been a better, smoother purchasing experience.”
