“I used it to file the edges of some alloy i had cut to make to make the bodywork for a miniature car. It did a great job saved a lot of time easier than using a metal file.”

“Bought this to replace a 'domestic' quality one from Aldi, as it wasn't up to heavy work; as usual the Evolution matched up to all the other saws and so on that I run, being tough and high quality build. A big surprise bonus was the side button wasn't an annoying safety device, but provided the ability to run the file without trigger, being a lock button. Great stuff. The only surprise was that the overdone shrouding around the file business end was so big; on competing tools it is cut right back almost to the motor housing to give a longer area on the sanding band underside. This would reduce weight and make it more versatile, although a longer wearing strip on the under side of the finger would also be needed. might trim that back one day as don't need the collection bag”

“Have very recently purchased this electric file and find it very disappointing indeed! At slow speeds the motor stalls and just hums, and when you select a higher speed in takes what it seems like ages for the motor to catch up under no load conditions, plus the belts will NOT stay on and continually fly off. Tried to centre the pulleys but this makes no difference what so ever; the belt tensioner locks up with dust and won't move until you clear the dust away from the slide. Needs a lot more development before it's reintroduced onto the market. I am a professional tradesman and have used many electric tool aids in my time and thought that this was a good make, but I have now got my doubts!!”

“I bought this tool for a specific job on a staircase and have found it far too aggressive despite buying finer sandpaper. I am sure there are certain jobs that is really effective for but not what I had purchased it to do so I am extremely disappointed.”
