“Got this upgrade to replace the original awful plastic insert plate. A huge improvement and good build quality. Sits a bit high at one side so I'll need to trim the offending side (underneath) a little to get it stting level. Good to get two insert plates. I'll keep the original for angled cuts. This upgrade makes the saw much safer to use. My only grouse is the price. This upgrade should really be offered at cost price to those of us who were supplied with the original insrt plate.”

“I bought another as these are aluminium and the original are only plastic so I now have an Aluminium one for 45 cuts and 90 degree cuts.”

“Fitted badly and required fettling to get it to fit flush with the table surface. 4 small circular stubs sat beneath the mating surface with the table recess. It was necessary to gently file 1mm off each before the perfect fit could be achieved. If this was part of making the plate a universal fitting it would be fine but the lack of any instructions didn’t help.”

“It is at least 1.5mm thicker that it should be, so to make it flush with table saw surface you have to file off from the underneath. After I did that I found the throat plate was still too high half way along, but that is because the table saw doesn’t have enough support and sags in the middle. This a severe design and manufacture problem for Evolution. I don’t know if they care. I have bought their circular saws, table saws, sanding machines and dust collectors and while there are good points and good prices, not supporting the table saw surface properly is idiotic.”
