I'm keen on DIY so I make jigs to speed things up and make life easier for myself. So a tool that I don't need to jig up and makes the job smoother in execution and finish gets my seal of approval.

Really fell in love with this saw I have given it five stars as I am now out of the trade and only use it for DIY but today I realised that I should have purchased the one with a double bevel cut so I had to cut one by hand ,! Not as good as the saw though you live and learn even at 83

This mitre saw is solid and robust. The quality is just as good if not better than most of the higher priced brands. If you want a quality mitre saw at an affordable price then this is the one for you. Evolution just seems to be getting better all the time.

A great product with the advantage of being able to cut almost anything without a blade change. DIY folks will love this. So why only 4 stars? Well, because it is a bit of a pain to mount due to a little piece of plastic which I have not seen mentioned elsewhere and if there was a reference in the destruction sheet I missed it. I first noticed this after using it at 90deg only to build a workstation and the saw was mounted on the Evolution stand directly. When deo'ing this to my son, no way could I get above 30deg on the mitre cut in either direction. It took a while to see that this was due to the plastic cover on the underside of the release mechanism hitting the stand arm. Loosening the mounting bolts and sliding the saw bacwards an forwards partially solved the problem but meant the saw was further forward than recommended. Mounting it to the workstation gave a similar result and to solve this the front of the saw stand was proud of the mounting board. In the end I had to use spacers beween the board and saw feet of 3mm to be able to mount it where I wanted it. Frustratingly this meant I had to re-jig the mounting board to level the saw table to the bench tops. All Evolution need to do here is fit thicker feet, but maybe it was just me!

Bought this to replace an old B&Q slide saw. What a difference, fantastic piece of kit would definitely recommend.
