This was easy to get set up, checking square is simple and had really nice cuts! Blade eases through material effortlessly! Very well made and at a very good price compared to the more expensive yellow and blue brands, I now look at evolution first when choosing power tools!

Evolution 185CCSX+ with a 2.8m track bundle £179.98 was a great deal but I also took advantage of the TENOFFSUMMER offer and saved a further 10% so paid £161.99. At this price I can justify the bundle as just a track saw or alternatively keep it as my primary circular saw until I have a strong reason to buy a cordless Milwaukee to match my other power tools. If the 185CCSX+ performs anything like my Evolution Rage3-S mitre saw it could be a long wait. First off, I’ll be clear that this is my first track saw, or any kind of saw with a circular blade. I’ve also only used the saw a handful of times, but have already built a simple “shoe box” using this saw and 18mm plywood. The saw works okay for what it is - a budget value model. There are a fair few “tweaks” that could be made to improve things though. Firstly, the instruction manual. It’s awful! It really isn’t much use for setting up the saw, and would be better used to prop up a short table leg. It took a while to locate a grainy, poorly produced video on how to set up the saw. Even for a budget model, much better instructions and clear urls for videos would be a big improvement. As for the saw, it appears to be robustly built, but there are again some tweaks that would improve the experience. Most importantly, the mitre angle is not very well marked. It’s kinda hard to tell if the blade is set to the right angle. A better visual or even haptic feedback would be useful. Attaching the blade feels a bit hit and miss too. There doesn’t appear to be any sensation of “nipping up” the arbour bolt to ensure the blade is secure. Again some kind of haptic feedback would make thi# a better experience. The featured light doesn’t do a great job of actually lighting up the point of cut. Perhaps a laser line would be more useful. The track alignment cams seem to be quite tricky to tighten/loosen adequately. Finally the supplied bag seems to be in the small side and, to be honest, a hard case would be preferred to keep the saw in good condition. The track works great but again there are some issues. The instructions, again, are pretty useless and don’t make any useful suggestion of how to do the initial trim of the splinter guard. Also, the supplied clamps are pretty crappy, never really acquiring any good clamping pressure. I will certainly be replacing these with another brand that assures good clamping. On the plus side, the supplied blade dies a great job. It made good work of trimming a straight edge onto 18mm plywood and the bevel cut presented no particular difficulty. The saw slides smoothly on the track with just the right amount of resistance to feel like it’s under control. The tracks are straight and the saw tracks true for now. In summary my experience of buying and using this saw from Evolution as my first Track/Circular saw is generally good, but tarnished by really poor instruction manuals and some features that coul d be implemented/engineered better

Just bought this piece of kit for future projects. I had done loads of research as it's a bit of a full market these days. That was until I saw the bundle so I had to take the plunge. Sorry for the puns, they just came out. Really impressed with the build quality and price point and will look forward to using it on a number of projects in the near future.

An excellent tool, so easy to use, and what a time saver, cuts square and clean, nice bags to keep the saw and the tracks in, an absolute bargain.

purchased for an upcoming project that required some long cuts from 8 x 4 boards. the track is long enough to rip the boards easily. the saw is held firmly and its track and the cut is square. i have cut down the board easily to my measurements and have no hesitation to recommend. i am very happy with my purchase.
