“We had a brilliant time, we were made so welcome by everyone and were treated like family, nothing was too much trouble.
We are recommending your company to everyone we talk to!”
“Crew were superb. Noting was too much trouble and always accompanied by a smile. Felt that the daily diary was sometimes too much squeezed into too short a time. Maybe just one 'event' per day to allow relaxation and 'cruising' to be enjoyed. 'Brown' water for washing not enjoyable!. My shower at home ran brown when I washed my hair!! Food/Menu well balanced but lacked sufficient flavour on occasions - and soda bread/muffin far too hard to handle!. In conclusion, good value for money (in spite of single supplement) well organised - a unique experience.”
“Crew excellent and Katie and Taylor exceedingly helpful. Would have liked cabin and bathroom to be a bit larger and to be able to use tap water for our teeth as well - not good. Varied menu but it would have been nice to have more food cooked on board and sourced locally. Beef was mainly gristle and sinew and the lamb not much better! More time was needed on the visit to Berkeley Castle but less time in Tewkesbury. Good company and a good laugh had. Don't think we would go on another English trip, however, very interested in French trip for next year apart from having to travel from London.”
“It was a perfect holiday,, relaxing, comfortable, and the meals produced by Colin the chef were brilliant.
Each day there was one or two stops along the river to visit places of interest. Never a dull moment .
It was handy being able to help yourself to Tea and Coffee any time, as I drink decaffeinated tea and coffee I was very pleased to see they were readily available.”
“A very enjoyable holiday, with amazing food, friendly and efficient crew and an interesting itinerary. Relaxing way to see new places and meet lovely people. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend it.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise, starting on 3 September, despite the unfortunate necessity to rearrange the itinerary at short notice simply because a bridge couldn't be opened in the heat. You managed that very well, though it was a pity that Upton-on-Severn's museum, tourist office and tower were not open on a Wednesday; and I fear we missed out on some of the guided tours we should have had. I found the boat very comfortable (although being a single traveller I had a whole second bed to keep items on!). The food was excellent and the other passengers very congenial (though of course you can't do much about it if any are not), and the variety of places we visited was extremely good. My only (minor) complaint is that you should have given us detailed instructions for finding you, instead of the rather sketchy map you did send, since you apparently can't put up even a single sheet of A4 with your name. Finally, I apologise for losing a quoit overboard. I still don't know what happened - it was not intentional.
Kind regards, George Hart
PS I may well consider doing a different trip with you next year or later.
PPS I took some 100 photos. If you would like to see any of the better ones, please let me know.”
“A holiday on the "Edward Elgar" is a unique and amazing way to experience the delights of the Severn Vale. The boat is exceptionallly well equipped and very well maintained ,and every single member of the crew worked incredibly hard to ensure that the passengers' requests were dealt with promptly and in a friendly way. Congratulations especially to the chef who provided a variety of delicious meals throughout the cruise and also to Katy and Taylor who were so cheerful and friendly as they went about their daily chores. Nothing was too much trouble for any member of the crew and the passengers were able to relax and enjoy their holiday, knowing that under the command of Matt, ably supported by the First Mate, the boat was in safe and appropriately qualified hands. Especial mention must be made of Conrad - the Jack of all trades and master of all, who switched effortlessly from steering the boat to barman, from giving a presentation on different gins to leading an early;morning walk in the fog, along the tow path to the Purton Wrecks. Always cheerful but equally very professional in all that he did. For us, the passengers, a restful, interesting and all together brilliant holiday. A big thank you to all concerned.
that the boat was in safe and appropriately qualified”
“Super staff, helpful and efficient with great sense of fun. Peaceful cruising and time to enjoy the passing countryside. Good food. Good variety of interesting tours. Convivial group of fellow travellers, good size of group. We look forward to travelling with you again.”
