“In a musical instrument system, I initially had installed a stereo amplifier that I built myself based on TDA7293 chips (100W RMS per channel, class AB); it was convection cooled and therefore had no annoying fan noise when operating. I replaced it with VONXY-800 and the sound quality is not as good as my home-build amplifier, and the fan noise is very annoying for the VONYX-800. I am unsure why the sound has degraded unless the VONYX-800 is based on a D-class switch-mode configuration. I am presently weighing up reinstalling the initial amplifier again, although it is of lesser power. It is this experience that gives me mixed feelings about the VONYX-800. Mechanically it seems well built and it has functioned reliably.”
