The Wylex FALNM806L All Metal Consumer Unit is designed to be fitted into the Clifton, mantel and other meter cabinets. Supplied in a 100 Amp DP Mainswitch configuration with up to 8 Usable Ways. This consumer unit is designed to be fitted into cabinets with 273mm fixing centres, it fully complies with 17th Edition 3rd Amendment.

“This is not truly a skeleton board but a CU with an additional steel shroud to surround unsheathed singles going from the CU to conduits in the top of a Mantel or Zedlok cabinet. The cables would fail to comply with the regs if not enclosed so this provides a simple and neat solution if you are replacing one of the old Wylex boards. Side extension brackets MNSPE7660/NR can be ordered but instead, I drilled the back of this CU, drilled the back of the Zedlok cabinet and rawlplugged, packed some mini trunking and grommets behind the CU to make it stand forward enough that the shroud did not foul the conduit entries and then drove screws through the CU and into the rawlplugs. It doesn't come with an SPD but if you fit one, you end up with 6 usable ways which is enough for most of the council flats where these cabinets are found. If you need more ways, then FALNM1106L (11 ways) or FALNM1106FLEXS (SPD included + 9 ways) is the solution. Neat and compliant - all good.”
