“This design of panties is not the "old ladies' knickers" that you might dread! They fit snugly, but the value of the slightly lower leg is that there is no edge of material causing chafing in the groin - when that is an area where exzema can appear. The smooth soft cotton is quite thick, but not bulky under normal fitting trousers.”
“These underwear shorts are very wearable with their 100% organic cotton comfort, no elastic in the legs and a small slit to make it possible to remove the non-latex elastic at the waist [having multiple chemical sensitivity this is necessary for me] replaced with a natural ribbon, everything is just fine : )
Also, considering I needed to order my last set of briefs from the USA, I am glad to be able to now order here in the UK - many thanks Eczema Clothing !!”
“Comfortable and eases my skin irritation. I removed the elastic (to which I am allergic) very easily through the purpose made holes. Accurate sizing and very comfortable. Very hard to find any other full cotton briefs with no elastic so these are a winner and will buy more.”
“These are great quality, well made and comfortable to wear. they are 100% cotton.
the only reason I've given 4 rather than 5 stars is that they are quite expensive, though i do appreciate that I'm paying for the quality. And i will buy more from here.”
“i bought these to wear under gauzy summer dresses for a bit of modesty; they are great quality and very sturdy, a bit too sturdy in fact; what do i mean by this? well, as someone with skin-sensitivity and sensory issues other than eczema/ psoriasis, i found the seams very thick, especially the binding on the leg-end of the shorts, which is much thicker than you might expect for underwear; in fact i found them intolerable, like i was constantly aware of the feeling of them against my skin, not only but also when i took a step. i should say that i have skinny lollipop-stick legs, its the binding not the cut of the garment that was the issue. i actually spent half an hour carefully unpicking the (what seemed like three rows of) stitches; now without the binding, the leg-ends are very comfortable (and as they are jersey they show no signs of unravelling so far). i also found i was almost as intensely conscious of the stitching around the inside of the waistband, (as well as of the thick, sturdy waist-elastic); in the end i overcame this by wearing them inside out. the elastic around the waistband is very thick and strong, reassuring in a sense (they are definitely not falling down any time soon) but a little uncomfortable; perhaps this will loosen up im time? as another reviewer mentioned, there is a handy buttonhole-shaped gap ( carefully sewn so as not to fray) meaning it would be easy to replace that different elastic. i also found that wearing them with a liner stopped the sturdy gusset seams from making themselves known. wearing a smaller pair of underneath would also help with that; but who wants to wear an extra layer in summer? on that point, the fabric is on the thicker side; good for modesty, i suppose! i was curious to know if the "100% cotton" claim extends to the thread used for the stitching as i often find that synthetic thread can chafe and irritate my skin a lot - perhaps this could be part of the issue? unlike a lot of undergarments, the thread used for stitiching has no elasticity but i gather this could be an allergy issue?
thankfully the label itself is cotton and, as they say, easy to cut out. in the end, i will definitely use these shorts for their intended purpose (modesty) but i would like to request cotton comfort to consider ways the seams could be made less bulky and whether a simple fold and stitch might not work better at the leg-end. i hope this review may be useful to them and others.
finally, i would like to ask men to refrain from reviewing women's underwear (or really anything else) on their wife's behalf; it is icky and creepy for the rest of us. and this is the 21st century.”
