Sage The Smart Grinder Pro Black Truffle Reviews

4.6 Rating 5 Reviews
I bought the Sage smart grinder pro based on research and other reviews of it and I am not disappointed. It performs extremely well over a wide range of grind sizes and makes obtaining uniformly ground coffee a doddle. I have had no issues getting excellent espresso shots using this grinder after relatively small amounts of experimentation to find the best grind setting for the amount and type of coffee I use. Likewise, for pour-overs and filter coffee making the larger grind size settings do a great job and produce an excellent cup of coffee. The Smart Grinder Pro is semi-automatic with eg grind times for different amounts of coffee built in so you are ready to go no matter what type of drink you are making. That said, the device is fully customisable and can be operated in "manual mode" should you wish to exactly control the grind time or grind size etc. The Smart Grinder Pro is well made and feels very robust in use. The burr grinder mechanism also seems well made and should last a decently long time if used as intended. It is a little noisy in use but this is to be expected I guess and it does require a regular cleanout of coffee grounds that get left in the burrs but that's par for the course in many respects. Clearing out the left over grounds is pretty easy to do either by tapping / gently shaking the machine and running the machine empty for a short time to dislodge the grains or by using the supplied cleaning brush. The burrs are readily accessible for brush cleaning which also helps. Overall, given the fact that you could spend well over £500 on a "decent" grinder, the Sage Smart Grinder Pro produces very good results at a very good price point and as such it's a winner!

Great little grinder for the price. Only niggle is when grinding for espresso there seem to be 2 or 3 clicks within grind setting 1 which makes it fiddly to make sure you are on the right one if like me you change grind size for pressed coffee. But plenty of nice features to prevent me worrying to much about that. Easy to use and clean. Further adjustment in the burrs if you remove the hopper... I'd recommend this product for sure as it is easy to use and not too expensive.
