Doppio Passo Primitivo 2023 75cl Reviews

Read Drink Finder Reviews

This Primotivo from Doppio Passo is classic primotivo through and through offering a bold and powerful presence in aroma and taste. Aromas of blackberries, plums and chocolate. On the palate it is rich with cherry and blackberry fruit and a touch of vanilla amongst some oak notes. Bold, smooth and soft (perfect). This has been made in a similar way to Ripasso wine using a portion of Primotivo gapes and fermenting the wine a second time round on dried skins.Food Pairing:A great match to be served with spicy red tomato sauce pasta dishes, pork, beef or hard cheeses.

Bought a bottle in a restaurant whilst on holiday last year. Very enjoyable and smooth to drink. Found a supplier and we are regular customer now, recommended.

This is a lovely smooth and light red that I was introduced to a couple of years ago. It is my red of choice for parties or just for the occasional glass in the evening.

Having found this wine by a happy accident, it suits my partner and my taste, which is quite a feat. She generally likes smooth, velvety wines while I have a preference for Tempranillo or Rioja. I don't want to recommend Doppio Passo Primitivo to anyone, as we want to keep it for ourselves!! In fact, we are just ordering our next case for delivery as our intended Christmas stock was mysteriously depleted.

This is my favourite red wine. So fruity and smooth all the way down. Punches well above its weight.
