“This is my third collar. The first one lasted a long time, the second failed within months - I am keeping a record of this one - it's an expensive piece of kit so it had better last this time. They seem to have improved the battery chamber so I am hopeful it will be better than the last one.”

“Having been to puppy classes and got my little dog well trained,he suddenly discovered the joy of chasing off after squirrels when he was about 18 months. He sometimes disappeared in the woods for half an hour or more when he was on a chasing mission, ignoring all my calls .It was terribly worrying,and it was starting to spoil the fun of our walks - in addition,he also decided that it was fun to chase after cyclists and the occasional jogger too,and although he found this hilarious,the other person involved generally did not appreciate it at all!My dog trainer then lent me her air collar and for a couple of weeks and I used it just at the point when my dog was about to belt off chasing after something - a warning from me,followed by a quick puff of air if he ignored me very quickly brought him running back to me looking slightly scared;I would always make a fuss of him then ,so that he associated me with comfort ,rather than with anything unpleasant. I really didn't want to use a collar like this or anything which was unpleasant for my dog,but unlike electric shock collars,this doesn't hurt the dog,just brings them up short and makes them take stock of what they are doing.The really great thing is that I only had to use the borrowed collar a few times before my dog got the idea and realised what his boundaries were.I ordered a collar of my own from Doggie Solutions because it gives me confidence when I am out and about with my dog - so far I have only had to use the air puff twice to distract my dog from chasing,and all I need to do if my dog looks about to chase off is to tell him firmly to "leave it" - so I feel the bad habit pattern has been broken ,and we are enjoying our walks again!This said,I will keep putting the collar on him,as you never know what you may meet out and about ,and it is peace of mind should we suddenly encounter a field of cattle,a cantering horse or a busy road in an unfamiliar place and I need to stop him quickly in his tracks.”
