“This is the best spray collar we've tried. (Though, in all honesty we've only tried one other make.)
We had a MasterPlus Pro (also from doggiesolutions) which lasted for years with our previous dog. Even though he loved going into reservoirs, the collar survived. We used it to stop him eating sh1t and, say, pestering other people out on a picnic. It did eventually die, after at least 5 years, when the gas chamber developed a leak.
We’ve now bought another MasterPlus Pro for our new dog. We use the beep for recall and the spray for dissuading unwanted behaviour. Works really well.
Regarding the other (Chinese?) make we’ve tried with our new dog: Bought on Amazon (one of many similar ‘makes’ on there) for around 50quid, described as shower resistant, it certainly had problems if the dog splashed around in a stream! Ok, so it also had an extra vibrate mode, several ‘power’ settings and you could ‘flash’ the lights on it. It quite simply wasn’t rugged enough for day to day use. It was ok for training in a controlled environment or if you could guarantee your dog would not get wet. I was able to ‘repair’ it by opening it up and drying it out. But it eventually died beyond repair. We tried a second unit which I did my best to make waterproof using plastic and pvc tape. Again, it failed after a few weeks outings with the dog in the British weather. I also found a loose cable inside which had been giving operational reliability problems.
Also, the other make had a very weak spray. Several occasions our dog was ‘surprised’ by the spray but then continued to eat the empty burger wrapper.
Not so with the MasterPlus Pro. The spray is really powerful and really effective at discouragement. The beep is not loud but it’s certainly loud enough for the dog to hear.
The MasterPlus Pro (remote and collar) may be very expensive at 3 times the price of the Chinese(?) makes, but in our opinion, it’s been worth paying more for a better product.

New one is again perfect for those unexpected moments when our spaniel decides to do a runner or if we need his attention. Let’s hope the new latches on the collar hold out.”
