Premium Metal Cutting Fluid Kit with 8 dipslide capacity incubator, 2 boxes of dipslides and a digital pH Tester. Option to also add a refractometer for fluid concentration testing and a temperature sensor. This kit will assist the user in testing the bacteria, yeasts, moulds (fungi) and pH levels of metal cutting / metal working fluid. How to use the metal cutting fluid test kit. Dip slide into fluid Fully submerse the dipslide (so all the agar is covered) into your cutting fluid sample for 10 seconds. After which, remove the slide and allow the fluid to drain off before returning it to the tube. Place dipslide into the incubator Place the dipslide into your incubator and inbucate for 24-120 hours (see instruction sheet for exact times). Review Results Remove the dip slide from the incubator and compare the results with the comparison chart provided. THE PREMIUM METAL CUTTING FLUID TEST KIT INCLUDES: 1 X Orion MX8 Dipslide Incubator (up to 8 dipslide capacity) 2 x boxes of Metal Cutting Fluid Dipslides (Bacteria & Yeast / Mould test), 20 dipslides in total. 1 x pH Tester and 20ml pH buffer solution for calibration. 1 x Refractometer 0–32% Brix (optional) can be added to the kit if you wish to purchase one / don't already have one. A refractometer can be used to test the concentration of industrial / metal cutting fluids. Testing the concentration is important as having a high or low concentration can contribute to adverse health effects, ineffective lubrication, machine breakages and bacterial contamination. In accordance with the MW5 HSE regulation, you are now required to monitor the temperature of your MWF. MWF Temperature will need to be tested weekly with your results recorded either via a printed record sheet or our Excel record sheet (soon to be updated with temperature records). The operating temperature will need to be monitored as higher temperatures (30 degrees C+) support the growth of bacteria, yeasts and moulds. Depending on the type of MWF you use, other factors can be affected by the temperature including fluid concentration, consistency and performance. Choose from the dropdown if you would like to add the temperature sensor. You may wish to check with your MWF supplier as to what temperature range is appropriate for the specific fluid that you are using. 1 x Full colour 22 page instruction manual with step by step instructions (including photos) and record sheets. This kit features a larger capacity incubator than our standard metal cutting test kit. It also features a pH tester rather than strips. This is a more long term solution as you will not need to keep buying pH strips when they run out. Testing the pH of metal cutting fluid can indicate whether levels are corrosive. Low pH levels can be caused by the presence of bacteria. This is why using dipslides and a pH tester together gives a fuller indication of the 'health' and quality of your cutting fluid. Ideally, you do not want your cutting fluid to have a lower pH than approx 8.5 as any fluid that is too acidic will corrode metals. However, you don't want a pH level that is too high as it can pose a risk to health (skin irritation etc). Handheld pH Tester The handheld pH tester in this kit is the EcoTestr pH 1. It has a full 0.0 to 14.0 pH range. It is battery operated and waterproof with a digital display. This device has a long sensor life and a sensor protective cap. Features include: Auto-calibration & auto-buffer recognition Hold function freezes making it easy to record readings Waterproof tester floats if dropped in fluid Includes 65ml pH buffer solution. Metal Cutting Fluid Dipslides The Metal Cutting Fluid (MCBTM2) dipslides test the cutting fluid for bacteria and yeasts / moulds. Regular microbiological testing of metal cutting fluids is very important. High levels of bacterial contamination will degrade the quality of the fluid and will become a health risk. Contamination can also cause the pH level to lower to acidic levels. There are 2 boxes of dipslides in this kit (20 dipslides) . To test your metal cutting fluid using these dipslides, carefully dip the slide within the fluid and immerse fully then replace the slide within its tube. You will then need to incubate the slides and once incubated, compare results with the comparison chart provided to evaluate if contamination is present. Orion MX8 Incubator The Orion MX8 Dipslide Incubator will incubate up to 8 dipslides at a time. No set up is required for this incubator. The temperature is pre set at 30 degrees Celcius. Easy to order the complete kit, when the kit arrived the following day it was well packed and was supplied with a clear and concise instruction book which went through each step of how to set up and use each component of the kit. I would recommend this kit if you have a requirement to monitor and test metal cutting fluid.
