“This was my first assisted breaking device and so far I'm very impressed. I have only used it for sport climbing so far, but tested it out abseiling too and it works well (using 9.8mm ropes). Essentially the same belay technique as a tube device, with a slightly different method for paying out rope and lowering, but these are very intuitive, easy to get used to and not too dissimilar to the technique used with a tube belay. It can also be used with half ropes, as a tube belay device, and in guide mode when bring up a second, although I'm yet to try these out. Would definitely recommend.”
