“Interesting tools to practice ice climbing on a regular indoor wall.
They certainly make an indoor route that bit more challenging and are a good workout for your lower arm muscles. What I find though is that it only mimics ice climbing to a certain extent as an indoor route is rarely set up for this purpose (at least not on the indoor wall I frequent in Dublin, as ice climbing is a bit of a niche area in Ireland). I find the best way is to ignore indoor route grades and rainbow, so you have a multitude of round hooking holds to use. Corners work best I find, as with a corner you can use one foot on the left wall section and one of the right wall section and mimic the A or X frame best.”
