“I received 6 good chunky sized desserts pots, one pot would easily serve 2.
Firstly the packaging. The 6 pots are metal tins, I received 5 rose gold and 1 silver, in a shoe box type box....not sure why one was different, I would preffered them all the same, matching if reused for sustainability ☺️ but that isn't a complaint. The packaging was very nice.
There was a detailed cake/ allergens booklet that came with the pots, but it wasn't relevant to the dessert pots at all. And sadly the pots were not labelled, so I was worried about sharing with others who have specific allergies.
2 of the cake pots were chocolate heaven, full on Bruce Bogtrotter matilda dream cake style. So luxurious and delicious. The pots had a thin layer of cake at the bottom, and then chocolate ganache or mousse and then topped with solid chocolate. The solid chocolate topping is clever because it keeps the freshness and airtight.
The other 3 were biscoff, hazelnut, peanut, and ferror rocher I think. This is guessing because they weren't labelled. I had the biscoff and peanut. Personally the flavours were too strong for me. It was like eating a jar of Biscoff spread, or a jar of crunchy peanut butter. I think the flavours needed to be lighter or toned down with mousse or cream, but that being said they were enjoyed.
Overall an 8 out of 10. Delicious.”
“Problem encoutered was to get through the thick chocolate capping without spoiling the filling. Had to wait 4 days before it had soften enough to spoon through it.”
“The dream cake variety box was delicious and decadent but was different from the picture with 5 of it having only dusted cocoa powder as a topping over the chocolate disk, only the hazelnut flavour came as advertised.
2-3 pots were difficult to distinguish by taste, with the layers melded together. Not a bad experience but defeated the purpose of having different bites in one box.
I would probably buy another cake from the bakery but not the variety box.
The delivery was good, on point and delivered as scheduled and promised.”
