“I like it so far, but will need to wait some time to see its effects before giving a full review. It does not sting and goes on very smoothly. It blends in well, making it easy to put on at night without worrying about sheets touching the skin and rubbing it off. The only point of improvement is the size of the product - the box is quite big because it also includes the buffer cream, but the actual portion of retinol product is relatively small. I would like to be able to purchase a bigger size of the retinol product on its own, without the buffer cream.”

Microencapsulated Retinol is an expensive product to formulate and will also have a shelf- life, therefore this is a consideration when producing this product for retail to consumers. It is not advisable to use Retinol on the skin constantly, we would always recommend that consumers visit a Dermalogica Professional Skin Therapist before purchasing their retinol so that their skin and be assessed and advice given. The Buffer Cream is a complimentary item which accompanies the Overnight Retinol Repair and may be mixed with the retinol to avoid irritation during that settling-in period or if the skin is feeling a little sensitised.
