Waterfowl Sanctuary and Childrens Farm Reviews

4.7 Rating 6 Reviews
Visited today with my two girls (3 and 5), what a lovely experience. A simple, quaint and delightfully old fashioned farm. We were invited to cuddle various animals as soon as we arrived; ducks, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens etc. it was very relaxed and the children were able to hold their animals for as long as they liked. We didn't feel any pressure to hand them back or take turns which is very different to other petting farms we have visited. After this we wondered the grounds feeding goats, geese ducks etc. The woodland walk was beautiful and I can't wait to see what it must be like in the spring. There is a generous play area with a decent amount of equipment; swings, ride on cars, climbing frames, play houses and slides. It was hard to pull the kids away from this but once the donkey started shouting they were keen to investigate. All this for just £5 per person. Truly excellent value. If you are looking for something flashy and cartoon-ish for your children, then this isn't it. But if you appreciate the simpler things and just want your kids to have a nice time cuddling cute animals and playing in beautiful fields and woods, then this is well worth a visit and every penny of £5 per person and more.

My daughters had such a lovely time here! The farm was really sweet, and they adored that they could pet the rabbits and guinea pigs for as long as they'd like! My youngest never wanted to leave the wendy house, and they loved playing on the tractor. They are full of talk about the funny greedy goat, and the grumpy chickens ☺️ It's great value for money and we had a lovely couple of hours. We will come again.

My son absolutely loved our recent visit to this farm. They are a traditional small farm with some great attractions for primary school aged children. They have traditional farm animals like goats, pigs, donkey, rabbits, fancy hens and geese, but also some more exotic animals such as chipmunks, emus and llamas. There is a large play area, with equipment for small children, and picnic tables. There is also a nature walk that takes you past the pigs, geese and donkey. You can buy £1 of food to feed the friendly animals. But, by far the *best* thing (that my son loved) was holding the baby animals! We all held baby bunnies, guinea pigs and chicks, my son even went back later and held a bunny again. It's a great educational experience for children learning to hold and care for animals, you can even visit the nursing does in the bunny shed and see how they care for the younger babies. I definitely think it was value for money. It makes a great day out if you like a smaller venue without all of the commercial side, and expense, of the bigger farm parks.

I can't understand why there are people or I should write - trolls in here. If you would like to go to very popular place where there are queues everywhere - choose some other theme park/zoo. Waterfowl Sanctuary is a place where you can actually relax and come closer to nature. Perfect for nice afternoon. The entrace fee is very good for family budget. We have been to Waterfowl Sanctuary several times with our three children. They were over the moon to have a chance to cuddle little bunny and chicks. There is no rush, You could just sit back and enjoy as much as you like to. This is the place when my children discovered the sound donkey makes. :) We need to visit again soon. Like everywhere else in winter/spring time remember to put your wellies on as it can be quite muddy.

My young family and I have been to Wigginton Waterfowl Sanctuary countless times over the past decade, and taken friends and other family members with us. We have always enjoyed the day. This is not a theme park; I think the advertising shows it exactly as it is, a chance to get close to nature and enjoy the experience.

I came to this farm several times as a child about 20 years ago. It was a weekend and we've been looking for a petting 'farm/zoo' for our boy and I remembered this place and looked it up. Off we went on a Sunday and to my surprise it was as I remembered. In we went and straight away we were offered a baby bunny in a woollen holding blanket. It was very cute especially for the wife and little one. They have lots of animals to look at, cuddle and even buy.
