“Very disappointing…
Visited Cornwall with family of 6 adults, 1 x 7 year old and 1 x 3 year old.
On arrival was charged £120 to enter, which included our 3 year old who was measured just on the line. (The family before us left as was too expensive).
Once entered we went to join the bottle feeding encounter where you have to crowd round and you share the 3 bottles between all children in the park meaning you were able to participate for less than a minute each.
From there we went on to view the animals in the paddocks, there is no interaction with the animals other than the bottle feeding.
The pony ride was scheduled for 2pm (charged extra) so we visited the soft play area, no hot food available to order just pre cooked hot dogs.
An announcement went out to say pony rides delayed until 2.30pm, our 7 year old really wanted to participate so we waited around.
When we went to pony ride at 2.30pm we were delayed further as not ready when arrived there were number of children there, we already had measured our daughter and she was on the line. When we arrived we politely asked again as didn’t want to continue waiting, when measured told she is too tall. Understandably my daughter was so upset and felt humiliated, as a parent would you take your children somewhere you know they will be disappointed…
When we left via gift shop I asked to speak to someone and expressed our disappointment in the day and the money we had been charged to be told, we are the cheapest In Cornwall… this is family run and I can email concerns in.
The rest of the break away was enjoyable in other parks Camel Creek!, McDonalds Farm, and Oasis waterpark! well worth a visit and worth the money! Since I returned I emailed the company and explained our concerns and upset to be told that I am mistaken and my daughter is too tall and inches above the line. I still disagree as I mention no parent would take there child to be disappointed… I also asked if there could be changes to processes so other children are not disappointed like being measured on entry and marked as suitable but told this also isn't an option. Despite the whole experience I am not entitled to any sort of partial refund. When reading further reviews it seems any concerns are met with defensive responses.
I hope this review helps other families make choices about visiting as there are other alternative days out worth the visit in Cornwall.”
“Lots of work has been done the past 6 months and the place is starting to transform, we look forward to see where Dairyland goes with their offering.”
“First time we’ve been back for 5 years and it’s transformed. Great new picnic area with fire pits, trampolines and zip wire. Plenty of rainy day activity areas too. Friendly staff.”
