Over the years we’ve been to Twycross Zoo many many times, from way back when they had the’ TV chimps’. From my last visit this month, I found that the zoo in general is looking a bit ‘tired’ these days, and I fully understand that times are financially a lot harder than they used to be, with the cost of everything going up. My impression was that the Zoo must be really struggling to get by. I hope that they can keep on going and provide families and children a great day out! It would be a shame if it had to close as my grandchildren always love to go there.

Great day out with my Daughers. She loved the animals and unexpected lego statues of all of the animals. Looking forward to making the most of our annual ticket

We visited during the school holidays, and arrived just after 10am. Paying for parking took a while as the phone signal around the zoo was awful. We realised after that you could pay inside using a machine, so would do that next time. There was a small queue to get in but it only took about 15 minutes, so not too bad. The zoo was clean & tidy, we saw most of the animals and chatted to several very helpful staff. One by the Gibbons (their enclosure is great) and one by the Rhinos. There were plenty of stalls to get snacks and drinks, we didn't have food but there are a few options if you wanted lunch at the zoo. There are also quite a few picnic areas. The Gruffalo area is great for small children, with loads to look at and explore. Twycross is a great little zoo, with plenty to keep the family occupied.

We LOVED this zoo!! Perfect size for lots of adventure but without being too much for little legs! We only realised we missed the penguins when we got back haha so they’re first on the list for when we go back next week for our return trip! First visit was only end of June! But we booked to go back as soon as we could
