Bicton Park Gardens Reviews

3 Rating 4 Reviews
Lovely peaceful grounds to explore at your own pace with the bonus that your dog can come too. The staff are lovely and helpful. Priced as you would expect for an attraction of this kind. Times are hard and running costs expensive for all businesses. The moaners need to stop and think before complaining.

Sadly this place has become greedy and is now an awful experience. The entry free is now significantly overpriced. Even worse, the train which used to be a lovely way to journey around the park for a couple quid per head is now almost £20 for a family of 4 which is outrageous. Even the soft play which used to be a nice free thing for the kids (seeing as you already paid the entrance fee) they now charge you extra for!!! Ok it's only £l per child but still seems wrong when you have paid the extortionate entrance fee. The grounds are nice but there are other locations very nearby that offer similar beauty for much less cost. The buildings are all a bit grotty and even 'tacky' I would say. The cafe feels grimy and again is very over priced, especially the kids food. The staff are here are also really stuck up and act as though this is the most amazing place in the world and almost like you aren't worthy to be there. All in all, this is just sad. I have fond memories of this place over many years and a youngster myself and when my children were tiny ones but unfortunately greed and pompousness has ruined this place.

The beauty of the gardens cannot be overestimated, just stunning and lots to do with kids. But the food! THE FOOD! The cost? The taste? The blandness? And it cost £5 for a kids meal that consisted of two soft boiled potatoes, deep fried chicken nuggets and a lot (!) of beans. Seriously, people! I bought juice and it was £3! My membership gave us a discount though. Of 20 pence! yay.

My husband and I have taken our three families over the last few weeks to go bicton park, a total of eight adults and eight children. We had a lovely time!!! The staff had the patience of saints! From the reception to the restaurant to the play areas. On our last visit, last week, one of our granddaughters was very sick in our car as we pulled into the car park. The reception staff gave us a packet of wet wipes and massive toilet roll and were incredibly helpful and sympathetic! The first visit this year, two of our granddaughters wanted a squishy each from the gift shop. They only had one!! A member of staff searched the shop and stock room to find another. She wasn't able to but the thought and intent was there! During our second visit, I got back to Bristol after a fun day to find I had forgotten my very expensive tilley hat. I emailed them, they had found it and held onto it until the next visit two weeks later. I have to say nothing was too much trouble at a very busy time of the year. A big thank you from all our family.
