“The Vegas are pretty great. Just bought a second pair. I was looking for a replacement for the discontinued 5.10 Teams, my old beloved favorites. For me, the Vegas are instead actually an improvement, would get them instead of Teams, if given the choice now. It's a trade off, as always. The rubber seems stickier than C4, closer to but not quite as sticky as Hf. The payoff is noticeably better edging, similar to C4. Note that I weigh ~70 kg, so can't comment on how it'd be for heavier or lighter climbers. But for me, the rubber holds edges quite nicely, doesn't roll off much, and at the same time the shoes are still nicely sensitive. Before buying the first pair, I was sorta reluctant to risk buying them, after seeing online comments about durability when they first came on the market. No, turns out mine are fine, no issues whatsoever. Got them in late summer 2019. My first pair held up for 11 months as my 'workhorse' gym shoe. The sole in a ~2-3 cm radius at the toe point is worn enough to call for resole before I start to damage the rand, but otherwise the shoes are in great shape. Rubber durability similar to or maybe a little more durable than C4. Based on that, I'd guess they'll survive multiple rounds of resoling. The uppers are pretty similar in durability to my Sportivas. Currently my favorite shoe for comps and bouldering, like having a 'secret weapon'. (An aside: If you are looking for a Team replacement, I should add that I got a pair of Unparallel Leopards and those were very disappointing. Rubber shredded first day (on generic holds in the gym not sharp ones outside), and no stickier than Hf. Totally different from the Vegas.)”
