“The Dipond Aluminium Composite panels were recommended to me by a renowned portrait artist as an excellent base for oil painting. I have since used them for my own painting having given them a gentle sanding and coatings of gesso. I am very pleased with the result. They are light and easy to store and will serve me well when I come to do my next art fair. I will be ordering more. Now that I've tried them out with small scale paintings (A4) I will go on to order larger sizes.
Service is good. I did have to wait a little while for my size to come into stock, but it was no problem. I look forward to using this company in future.”
“We have used the White Dibond Aluminium Composite sheeting to make two sliding doors to an awkward cupboard situated in the corner of the Office where there is no room to fit conventional hinged cupboard doors. The runners used top and bottom to support the composite sheet are plastic 4mm wide tracks. The composite sheet was chosen being 3mm wide with rounded corners to run smoothly in the tracks whilst providing a need and clean finish to the cupboard exterior. Had to rely on the description provided on the website for the product and though I have never tried this before, it seems to have worked well.”
“I've been upgrading the electronics in our boat and some of the new equipment is smaller than the devices it is replacing. This left me with a problem since the holes cut into the instrument panels are now too big. The instrument panels are white glassfibre composite and I had expected to have to rebuild them with fibre glass matting and epoxy resin but this would be a long job to do well and epoxy is tricky stuff to use in cold weather.
I mentioned this to a friend who is a professional marine engineer and he recommended Dibond. For £30 I bought a plate the same size as the instrument panel and screwed this over the original panel. I then cut holes through it to take the new instruments and fitted them.
Dibond proved to be strong and easy to work. The result is not invisible, but it looks fine and I got the whole job done in an hour rather than the many hours spread over two or three days that it would have taken to rebuild with GRP.”
“Arrived when stated, well packaged, cheapest i could find. Perfect cuts to my sizing specification. Used it as a panel within a photobooth and will most definitely be purchasing from this supplier again.”
“I have found the panels of Dibond amazing to paint on, the surface is really slippery and is perfect for some of the effects I am going for. I am using oil paint and making landscape paintings based on the tour de france and looking forward to working on this surface more in the future”
“This is the feedback I had about the product I purchased AFTER I received faulty goods - twice - be prepared.
" The raising of the corners as you have photographed is what happens in the act of cutting aluminium composite panels on a CNC router - the sheet will never stay perfectly flat as the CNC cutter head raises the corners very slightly as it moves around the axes.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to cut aluminium composite panels on a laser as a laser would melt the polyethylene core.
You would need to keep in mind this issue with cutting aluminium composite panels if you were to ever order any further panels as the act of cutting on a CNC router (which does give the smoothest and most accurate results) does raises the corners of the panels very slightly when the cutter head moves around the axes.”
