“I was looking for something to drink on NYE as I don't drink anymore and was spending the evening with some friends who are seasoned rum drinkers... this ticked the box, I had my dandy smoke with coke and lime and also with ginger...both delicious, I danced and stayed up way past midnight and felt properly part of the party, loved it, would definitely buy again for a special occasion, nearly all gone in one night!”

“I really love the concept of this drink There are definitely exciting, well thought out flavours here I struggled to find a way to enjoy it however. Could be partially to do with my expectations. I’m a keen whisky enthusiast but have been looking for an alternative to being a bit more balance, health and wellness into my whisky drinking rituals. So walking in with these expectations, here’s what I found with Dandy Smoke: It’s too concentrated to drink neat. Most of Crossips mixed drink recipes suggest apple juice as one of the dilluting agents. However, to my palate, this washed out the lovely complex flavours they had created in the concentrated spirit. I found the ways I enjoyed it most was going far ‘off recipe’ and finding my own uses. I did manage to create some interesting old fashioned style drinks and some whisky soda style drinks. The faff of getting there however, was just a bit more than I expected. So verdict: it is an interesting complex AF spirit and fun to tinker with. However, if you are really into whisky, lower your expectations as I personally didn’t find it an easy substitute but something I had to tinker with for a while to find new ways to enjoy.”

Hey Andrew, thank you so much for the detailed response. Your feedback is very much appreciated. And we totally agree with many of your comments. CROSSIP Dandy Smoke is very much designed to be mixed, and we try our best to never compare it directly to a whiskey, because enthusiasts such as yourself will come away disappointed. Direct non-alc replacements for whiskey from other brands have always fallen flat because it's such a difficult taste experience to try and replicate (neat or on the rocks). We're so sorry though that you couldn't find a recipe that worked. The recommended simple serve for Dandy Smoke is with Cola not Apple Juice (it states this on the bottle), but we can only apologise if there was any confusion on our website!
