I bought the 10-shelf version of this wall mounted drying rack for my art and craft workshop space where I need to dry students paintings. It had to be wall mounted as I have limited space on the floor, and I also have a small budget to work with so it had to be not too expensive, so this rack seemed to fit the bill. It has turned out to be a real disappointment though as it is poorly made and badly designed and doesn't function. The problems are twofold: 1) The individual shelves are poorly manufactured, most being warped in some way, and the mechanism by which they hang on the frame is poorly designed. These two things means that each shelf doesn't lie flat which means they actually touch, or very nearly touch, the shelf below in whole or in places. This obviously means that they do not hold pieces of artwork away from the one above or below. Big problem this, considering the role you bought the rack to play! 2) The mechanism for holding the individual shelves up and out of the way - two loose 'arms' at the top of the frame on the left and the right - is designed so that when you move it to hook it onto the shelves it grinds a dent in your wall!!! I sent photos of the rack in full non-functioning technicolour to Costcutter and, after some considerable chasing, they have agreed to refund me the total price. This is satisfactory, but it has wasted me a lot of time, in the researching of racks and the putting up of it, and now the time it will take to find another wall mounted rack at a price I can afford. This may in fact be impossible to do as this particular rack seems to be the only one of its kind all over the internet (you can buy it in different sizes but it's the same rack), unless you are prepared to import a very good one from America at a huge price. I've left this comprehensive review as I would like to see the sales of this rack - and all the ones made by the same manufacturer - taken off the market and redesigned. Perhaps I should have expected to get a poor product, it being cheapish, but then, £30-40 is not cheap for this new business! Don't buy it basically!

Hi Sarah, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We were really disappointed to hear that the drying rack you purchased did not match your expectations and have since offered you full refund. It is an uncommon instance so we have passed your feedback onto our manufacturer and hope that they will be able to rectify the issue you faced with this particular item in future. Again, thank you for your feedback.
