“Before any vehicle policy is purchased from Quote Line Direct, it would be ideal for them to let the proposed purchaser know what documents may be required for them to fully validate the policy before it was purchased. Different insurance companies may require different forms of proof to validate a policy with them. If for some reason any of the documentation they require can not be provided or accepted, the purchaser would have to pay an admin fee for cancellation of the policy. It would be more prudent and fairer for any insurer to require corroborating evidence to support the policy before purchasing. If this is not possible, then no admin fee should be charged for the cancellation of the policy within say 7 or 14 days of the policy application date. If it is an insurance industry standard to only ask for requested documents after purchase, then as happened with other so called ''Industry Standard' or ''Refer to our terms & conditions'' clauses, it has been eventually changed when it has been shown to be an unfair practice.”
