“Having chosen Sterling Insurance I found complexities in ordering it beyond anything I have encountered in some 70 years of purchasing same. Placing an order also involved a lengthy telephone conversation much of which I was unable to understand because I am hard of hearing - my wife had to translate. On reflection I have decided to cancel the policy under the 14-day cooling off period allowed.”
“I can’t really do a proper review as my insurance has not started yet. So far their website has been easy to use. They sent me a text to call them to confirm some small details which was a bit of a pain as I was on hold for ages. They wanted proof of my employment in writing. I sent them my employment contract and a pay slip. If that’s not enough it will be annoying as getting a letter from my employer will be a pain and a waste of everyone’s time. My job title was also not one of the options available when setting up the policy so I had to choose the closest one. I was questioned on that but it seemed ok.
They didn’t ask me for any additional money which was good and unusual. I usually find when you use a search engine for quotes the actual insurance broker then finds some excuse to try and charge more.
In general the time to review and insurance company is on renewal. I won’t touch Admiral again. My renewal was more than twice my original premium. I also had a none fault claim which was handled badly on their part.”
